Blood, Bones and the Devil House Frankenstein – Music of October 2023

Happy Halloween sick things! šŸŽƒI haven’t really done much today since I had to work tomorrow, but I did go out to see the new Five Nights at Freddy’s film and I went in an outfit where I tried to look like Alice Cooper but without a wig and top hat. If I don’t think I’ll be able to don a full costume, I’ll turn one of my everyday clothes into one because I love dressing up.

Anyway, my first attempt at the makeup turned out pretty good, and I got a few compliments for it at the theater. An older man behind the snack counter said to me: “Oh hey Alice! I haven’t seen you in a while!” Now that was flattering! He also shared with me that he worked with the man himself, which is really cool.

Oh, and the movie was good too, full of Easter eggs. I never played the games, but the lore is interesting. I felt like it had some plot holes, but the atmosphere was nice. I also watched The Nightmare Before Christmas and loved it so much. It was adorable and spooky at the same time.

I didn’t listen to much music this month, even when driving because my G is coming up and I want to make sure I’m focused but still I made some time listen to spooky tunes for the season. Well, actually,I listen to spooky songs all year long!

Ghost – Body and Blood

This is the song that made me fall in love with Ghost, it’s an eerie tune that I love to sing along to and have done so with every ritual I’ve been to. I really miss the old Ghost when it had a darker sound and was vocal-centric.

That is how Ghost was unique for me before they got bigger. I can’t get enough of this one, it’s one of the Ghost songs I could listen to forever if I had to only pick one to listen to for the rest of my life.

Alice in Chains – Them Bones

It’s like this song starts with a jump scare before diving right in. Do I really need to see creepy insects up close in the music video? No.. hahaha!

Anyway, yeah this is a great eerie song so I just had to put it in here. I really like this band from what I’ve heard so far.

Lordi – Devil Is A Loser

A complete classic and perfect for Halloween. It’s one of the songs that got me into Lordi in the first place and I never tired of it. It was great to hear live when I saw them in 2017 and no surprise Mr. Lordi brought out his wings during it! It’s catchy and worth turning up loud no matter the circumstances.

The music video is eerie too. Imagine the band playing at a Halloween party and terrifying everyone, and at least one girl was brave enough to approach and look through the hole until Mr. Lordi somehow possesses her and the monsters reveal themselves. I miss Lordi music videos like this with suspenseful horror. If you’re looking to check out Lordi, this is one song I can recommend you start with.

Rob Zombie – House of 1000 Corpses

It’s definitely one of Rob’s darkest tunes that I’ve heard so far. I was quite surprised he performed it when I saw him last month. It still got me excited as he sang with a skeleton in front of him. The chorus is the best part with background screams and is anthem-like that I just had to sing along.

I have not seen the film of the same name. Maybe someday, I have a feeling it’s gonna be really gory past my limit like Smile was, so we shall see. Anyway, this song is very cinematic and I love it.

Alice Cooper – Feed My Frankenstein

Note to self, watch Wayne’s World ASAP, I still can’t believe I haven’t seen it yet! Anyway, you know what makes this song special? Not only is it perfect for Halloween but it is the first song I used when I started writing more about music on this blog, expanding it beyond Lordi & KISS.

I started posting weekly songs every Monday, starting with this one before switching to monthly. So yeah, it’s pretty special.

I am glad I remember my second time seeing Alice better than my first. I went bananas when he performed this song. So much for saving all my voice and energy for Rob hahaha!!! This is a catchy song and the music video gives me so much delight. Well I ain’t evil, I’m just good lookin’….. yes you are Alice, yes you are. šŸ˜……. šŸ˜³ okay…..yes I have a crush on him now, and if you can’t handle seeing that here (and that I might certainly start reviewing his albums too) because of some recent contraversy, then leave now.

Alright enough about that, I wish I could stay up late tonight but Halloween seems to frequently land on a day where I can’t because of work the next day. But Halloween isn’t just one day for me!
