Dreams

Tyrants and Demonic Stalkers

I don’t know what’s the cause for all these vivid dreams. But I do know one thing, I’ve had a lot more control over them lately, allowing them to end when I want them to, without sleeping through my alarm clock if it’s a work day.

There was one a few nights ago where I saved a friend from a serial and was not willing to wake up until I did so, but this one seemed a lot more vivid and worth sharing.

RE2 really imprinted on me if I’m constantly having dreams of Mr. X chasing me. It all started where I was running from him and ducked into the S.T.A.R.S office but the place had large windows, forcing me to crawl under a table.

Then there was another where I was running from him inside a massive theater with platforms and an orchestra playing the theme from the soundtrack and he was unable to reach the lower area closer to the stage, as something else was down there.

Onto this dream. Instead of there being sewers underneath the police station, there was a lab with a lot of oddly shaped colourful walls containing other monsters lurking around. Further below was a huge basement with many twists and turns with a main reactor.

In the center of it all was an elevator that went up to every floor serving as a fast travel. It was like I was inside a game. The elevator was useful but it encouraged one to not stick in the same place for long because the stalker would always be making their way toward you so the only option is to stay on the move or break the cycle by going into a safe room.

Mr. X was chasing me through every obstacle and enemy. I never ran so fast in my life and when I got to the reactor at the very bottom. I attempted to mislead him around a nearby generator and then made a run for it to the elevator. I quickly pressed the button and took it all the way to the top balcony, assuming that it was a safe place. I stood there anxiously but then suddenly the door burst open and there he was. With no other options I jumped off the railing and into the river below.

Then I was swimming and kept turning my head to see if he found a way to follow me and I ove underwater to be met with a bright light and in a flash I was back in the game again. I opened a map to see a red dot that eventually took the shape of a demon and I recognized it as Chaor.

Now I would never run from him but it was like I was programmed to in this game of a dream. I was back where the reactor was and this time I ran the long way back up the stairs, running out of breath multiple times once I saw on the map that he was around one of the generators.

Then I practically crawled through the colourful lab, eluding all the remaining enemies there. Like in most RE games, killing some enemies is optional. Run past them and conserve ammo if you can!

I made it to the top and saw Chaor was still behind as I ran down the path through a tunnel and I was back in what looked like the police station formerly a museum and I hurried through an open door, up the stairs and down a dark corridor. I pushed the door open and crawled into a corner where a bunch of desks were. It looked like the S.T.A.R.S office to me and I kept watching the map to see where he was and curled myself up once I could hear his footsteps. But I ended up waking before anything else could happen.

I always run from Mr. X but not Chaor! These dreams are certainly strange but so vivid it’s hard to forget them even if I don’t write them down.
