Steam Summer Sale 2023 – What I Bought

Well, I wasn’t planning to buy anything from this year’s summer sale, but there were some pretty good deals this time around, so yeah, I caved in. Now I want to save up to upgrade some of my specs. I hope to do it before the end of this year.

So yeah, without any further ado, here’s my haul.

Never Again

This wasn’t originally on my wishlist, but I saw it was on sale for an unbeatable price so I decided to acquire it. All I know is it’s about a young girl who has asthma and the footage I saw almost reminded me of Hellblade of what Senua would see and here with her psychosis. I wonder if this game will make a similar approach, well, there’s only one way to find out.

Anthology of Fear

I tried this demo a few weeks ago and wasn’t sure if I wanted to play but eventually it did get interesting and freaky, there is a mystery behind the story as well. I still remember walking into this room in the second part of the demo and there was this giant eye staring right at me! I love horror and this was cheap so why not?

Deliver Us The Moon

This game looked really interesting to me so I gave it a go. It’s about a lone astronaut’s journey to the moon on a mission to save humanity as Earth’s natural resources are nearly depleted.

So I expect this game will be an adventure with some beautiful sights, maybe some puzzles too and some emotional storytelling.

The Eternal Cylinder

Played the demo during the autumn Next Fest of last year, it’s been on sale before but not a deal good enough for me to buy. As I said, I was drawn to this game’s strong and unique/bizarre visuals, and the hardest part for me while playing is watching the cylinder destroy everything once it’s time for me to move forward. I don’t even think I finished the demo!

I still look forward to playing nonetheless and building a family of Trebhum! I might have to lower the graphics settings a little, at least until I can upgrade my graphics card, but I’ll find a way to manage. Hopefully, there’s a way to stop the cylinder, I don’t want this world to be destroyed!

Planet Coaster

Oh man this game was on my wishlist for probably seven years and it wasn’t until now did it get a reasonable discount for me to buy. My friend gave me Planet Zoo, which I still have to play as well.

All I know is that this one is like Rollercoaster Tycoon, but one thing that set it apart was I heard that you can ride the rides yourself to get an idea of what the guests experience, well that sounds fun now doesn’t it? If I can’t go to Wonderland every year why not bring it home?

Melatonin

I got drawn to this game for its pretty graphics and calming atmosphere. It appears to be a rhythm-based puzzle game but doesn’t look like it’ll be as difficult as Geometry Dash.

I once tried taking melatonin to help me sleep and found it would help me fall asleep but not stay asleep, I suppose an extended release tablet would be a better option!

And that’s my summer sale haul. What did you get?
