Pride of the Valley

So, it’s time I talk about the latest update from Disney Dreamlight Valley, something that I was hoping to write about sooner but due to some health issues, I took a break from the game to do what I needed to do that was more important. Once I felt better to ease back into gaming, I started paving the way for more of the update’s content.

This update was much larger than the last one and I completed the star path in less than two weeks after its launch. Around that time was when I began to notice the health issues I was having and needed to take a break. So I allowed myself to finish the star path and then stop for a little bit so I could rest and address what they were.

I like the items in this star path more than the last one, as I said, I wanted a pretty platinum gown but I guess that was not on Gameloft’s mind at that time.

Anyway, I liked the addition of adding rides from Disney parks and I placed them all in different biomes. It sucks that you can’t ride them though. In Farm Together, I have a designated carnival area with rides I can ride from the game’s Celery pack. (great farming sim game by the way, and the DLC cosmetic packs are super cheap too). I was also skeptical about the outfits too, like I thought the varsity jacket with the lanyard would be too sporty for my taste but once I tried it on my avatar it’s actually not that bad.

I love how I can also take photos with whatever critter companion I have. This pink bunny is from the Easter events that I participated in briefly before I had to step away from the game for a few weeks.

I have also taken the liberty to put more garden space in each biome since certain crops grow faster in those areas instead of just having them in the plaza.

This update also introduced a realm from The Lion King allowing us to bring Simba and Nala to our valley. I decided not to pursue this until I completed all the quests from the other characters I still had. Some questlines I liked more than others. I enjoyed completing Mirabel’s because of the outfits she gave me at the end, it also took me a while to complete everyone else’s quests so I spent a lot of time gifting everyone their favourite items and hanging out with them. But I pulled it off.

Meeting Simba and Nala was fun as I helped them ward off the hyenas from their realm. Nala came to the valley first once the realm was safe and I built a mini-sized Pride Rock for them in the Sunlit Plateau on the far side near the pond, away from Scar’s den.

He’s right over there Nala! Don’t you see him? When I started her first quest, she made me put on a certain set of clothes with “whiskers” and I recall hearing something in the Discord server that some people were unable to remove the mustache after completing that quest but I had no issues with it.

Simba arrived later, he wanted to glance at the stars first. He admitted that it’s not easy being king but I like how he maintains his laid-back attitude. I know the devs are going to add Timon and Pumbaa to this game eventually, but I have no idea when they will.

Aside from that there were some additional new quests like alien hunting with Buzz, which the rewards were underwhelming and a very heartfelt quest from Minnie. I just wish I didn’t have to build another balloon arch for the star path’s final task.

I haven’t finished Simba and Nala’s line of quests yet but I can tell already that I will like the final reward I get from the latter. If I do manage to finish their quests before the next update, I guess I’ll take another break because this game is probably the most responsible for me spending too much time in front of my computer than anything else I do at it!

We’ll see how soon I finish everything but this update was definitely better than the last.
