Ah, another game finished. I just recently wrapped up my second play through on Mass Effect: Andromeda and I’m already debating what’s going to come next. I’m also playing Dead Space on the sidelines, but in terms of something bigger, that is yet to be decided.
In four days, Halo: The Master Chief Collection will be available on Steam. I have already pre-purchased it along with all the games it will have. As I mentioned earlier, 343 Industries is going to release each game gradually, starting with Halo: Reach which will be available to play on the following Tuesday.
It’s been a long time since I played MCC where I played through the missions countless times racking up achievements and managed to complete Legendary co-op on all campaigns with my friends. It’s been an even LONGER time since I played Reach. It was the first Halo game I binge-played either alone or with friends. Though I was never the most skilled in multiplayer, I had fun doing the campaign and firefight. Going back to it as early as next week would be super exciting to relive those days, and I could review the game’s story for you guys as well.
But, at the same time, now that Andromeda’s done, I’m also eager to tackle the list of game franchises that I want to check out, and I’m leaning towards the Darksiders trilogy first. Is it strange that I find War attractive after watching the trailer for the first time? I don’t know what it is that’s causing it. I just hope I don’t run into a situation where I get too frustrated with the combat to continue, but I believe the experience will lead to a new universe to love as long as I give it a chance. It looks really good with all the creatures and stuff, so yeah.
Maybe you pyjaks can help me decide because I’m stuck here. Part of me thinks I can play MCC anytime because although I want to believe 343 has learned their lesson, there is still a chance it could be released with bugs next week that could be troublesome for both lore and multiplayer enthusiasts alike. Plus the only thing that I really play Halo for now is the story, not its multiplayer.
On the other hand, going to Darksiders is something brand new to me. I don’t know anything about it. Investing my free time in a new game franchise requires me to binge-play a little to learn the story and the characters. I’m sure it’ll be worth it, but still.
Opinions? I’m basically torn between what do first which is either feeding my nostalgia or trying something new. Leave a comment below!

Oooof that’s tough! It’s always good to try something new but I have a lot of love for Reach. To this day, it remains my favourite shooter ever. Hmmmm a dilemma indeed! 😅

Oof for sure! Darksiders looks incredible it’s like it’s almost calling my name….but then again so is Halo.

I’m always for trying new things, instead of letting nostalgia take the wheel. So I’d say play Darksiders. (For me it would be the other way around, I know Darksiders already, but haven’t played Halo)

Halo isn’t a super story-rich franchise. I’ve always been fascinated by the aliens though. It’s your typical military game. But what can you tell me that you like about Darksiders without spoiling?

Hmmm, it’s been years since I’ve played Darksiders. But as far as I remember, the story and characters were decent enough for an Action-Adventure. Also, there’s a lot of content for everyone. You have battles, exploring/collecting, upgrades, platforming, QTE’s, everything you can imagine 🙂
But what I really liked about the game was that as I grew stronger, I really felt those improvements, like War was getting substantially mightier, not only gameplay-wise but as a whole, if that makes sense?

I hear you. That’s when you have to consider expanding. Well, I’ve officially started Darksiders
